Thermo-Mechanical Engineer We are looking for a Senior-level engineer experienced in space materials selection and assembly, integration, and testing of flight hardware. Ideal candidates will have a background in delivering mechanical/thermal solutions for satellite electronics and payloads. The role's focus will be designing, building, testing, and validating mechanical parts, while closely collaborating with the electrical engineers that develop our electronic components. Key responsibilities: - Support Novo Space projects on AIV/AIT issues. - Prepare test specifications and procedures; generate test reports. - Monitor test/launch campaign progress and follow-up as needed. - Support Novo Space projects with respect to requirement specification, planning, costing, risk assessment, test execution, and verification control. - Design optimized shielding for electronic boards and flight computers to survive space environment conditions. - Perform mechanical and thermal analyses. - Generate specifications, drawings, control documents, plans, and reports to support multiple projects. - Interface with customers, payload engineers, AIT engineers, and program staff. REQUIRED education, work experience, knowledge/skills: - Degree in engineering with professional background in aeronautical/aerospace or mechanical engineering. - Strong design and integration skills using 3D CAD software. - 5+ years of experience with hands-on test and CAD design of complex spacecraft subsystems. - 5+ years of work experience in testing space grade systems (Vibration, Shock, Thermal Vacuum). - Experience in Finite Element Analysis. - Strong English skills. DESIRABLE education, work experience, knowledge/skills: - Experience in/with: o NASA & ESA procedures and standards. o Materials selections for space applications and advanced electronics PCBA manufacturing/packaging. o Creating pertinent engineering documentation, including detailed fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, bills of material (BOM), and work instructions. o Thermal/Heat Transfer Analysis (highly preferred). o SolidWorks and Ansys Inc. - Familiarity with electronics packaging and PCB design.
